The Ruff Rules

House of Hounds Cage Free Daycare & Boarding provides a safe, friendly and enjoyable environment for you and your pet. To ensure the safety and health of your companion, we will require that you comply with the following rules and regulations.

  • In order for us to be able to safely get your dog to the daycare and boarding area, Your dog must be wearing a regular flat or martingale collar, and a standard 4-6 foot non-retractable leash. If you do not have these items they are avalible for purchase.
  • All dogs must go through a socialization/evaluation period of four hours at least 24 hours prior to coming for daycare. Before boarding, a dog must have passed the socialization test and attended daycare three times.  (NO EXCEPTIONS: This is for your dog's safety as well as that of our other guests and pack leaders.)

  • If your dog has not been with us for over six months for daycare or boarding a complete re-evaluation is nessesary. The best way to avoid a re-evaluation is by coming to daycare at least 3 times within a 6 month period. PLEASE NOTE:  Due to  the safety of domestic and toy breed dogs, House of Hounds does not accept the Power Breeds: Pit Bulls, Pit Mixes, Rottweilers, Mastiffs, Shar-Pei's, ect. for Daycare or Boarding.  This is only for the protection of other animals.  We do offer grooming services for these breeds. We are aware that these breeds are sweet loving  pets, however some are prone to aggressive behavior in a pack environment.

Our top priority is to ensure the safety and welfare of your dog. Therefore, no dogs that have ever shown any aggression issues, either to dog or human will be allowed to participate. If for any reason any dog acts out of character and shows aggressive behavior towards another resulting in injury or fighting he or she would be separated from the group and placed in timeout following a "incident'' report that would then be filed and given to you upon departure explaning the siticuation. Three "incidents" will result in being expleled from doggy daycare.

I have a 10lbs approximately 5-year-old male Rat Terrier that needs a home. He was brought to me as a rescue, sick, and under weight. In the past month he has recovered and been given all of his shots. He needs an inside home with lots of love. He is not very energetic and does not like the cold. He is very sweet and follows you around. He also listens very well and does not run away when taken in the yard.
