PLEASE NOTE: Due to the safety of domestic and toy breed dogs, House of Hounds does not accept the Power Breeds: Pit Bulls, Pit Mixes, Rottweilers, Mastiffs, Shar-Pei's, ect. for Daycare or Boarding. This is only for the protection of other animals. We do offer grooming services for these breeds. We are aware that these breeds are sweet loving pets, however some are prone to aggressive behavior in a pack environment.
Our top priority is to ensure the safety and welfare of your dog. Therefore, no dogs that have ever shown any aggression issues, either to dog or human will be allowed to participate. If for any reason any dog acts out of character and shows aggressive behavior towards another resulting in injury or fighting he or she would be separated from the group and placed in timeout following a "incident'' report that would then be filed and given to you upon departure explaning the siticuation. Three "incidents" will result in being expleled from doggy daycare.
All day care or boarding clients of House of Hounds must read and sign a standard enrollment application. All daycare or boarding clients must be spayed/neutered. No age limits. All new canine applicants are required to be socially evaluated before being admitted as a daycare or boarding client. Prior to attending our cage-free facility, all dogs must complete a 4 hour socialization trial. The trial enables our staff to properly introduced themselves to your pet and determine if House of Hounds will be the most appropriate environment for him or her. There is a $15.00 fee for socialization test.
All dogs must be in good health and free of any communicable diseases. If your dog has been ill or has had surgery within the past 30 days, please let our staff know. Please do not bring your dog for daycare or boarding if you note any vomiting, diarrhea, dry heaving, coughing or any other potentially dangerous or contagious symptoms.
If you’re pet becomes ill while staying at House of Hounds, the dog will be separated from the other dogs and be taken to his or her vet. If for any reason your vet is closed or unavailable the dog would be taken to a Local Vet or Animal Emergency Clinic and the owner will be charged accordingly. The dog would then stay with a House of Hounds staff member if deemed necessary.
For the benefit of your dog as well as others, we highly recommend that you use preventative measures against flea and tick infestation. If fleas are found upon entry, your dog will be treated at the discretion of House of Hounds and will be charged accordingly.
